This place is a feast for all senses - the sound of chirping crickets, the ever present smell of rosemary, the vineyards and olive groves highlighted by the last rays sunlight, as you watch the sun go down from the pool.
The villa, to me, is a true piece of art: as you enter you feel the aura immediately, while your synapses create connections to pictures past and feelings long forgotten, but you can never really grasp the full array of materials, unique details and sharp outlines which make up this experience. It constantly reminded me of something but never fully understood why. I was lucky to get an introduction to the house by Davide Rizzo, which made me realize that it is simply his almost manic attention to details, materials, forms and colours creating the described overall feel.
The location between the rough landscapes of the Abruzzi range and the sea is absolutely stunning and invites for trips to the sea or to the nearby mountains. The close range of vegetation zones is unique in Europe and ambitious cyclists will realize the potential for extended bike rides immediately.
The traditional food of the area is the cream of the crop, with its mix of seafood on the one side and simple but absolutely amazing cuisine deriving from the wild mountain landscape, on the other. Big thanks again to Mr. Rizzo for the amazing culinary recommendations!
