Last year we called sisters-homes one day prior to the intended start of our vacation. Their house in Sv. Jakov was available, Vidovici was fully booked. Although we expected a beautiful house due to their perfectly designed website, we entered an even more beautiful place: the terrace in the garden where we had breakfast, the outdoor showers (cold and warm water!), the large terrace on the first floor - perfect to sit and read and fall asleep from time to time or watch the sea - the interior of the house giving pleasure to the eyes wherever you look. There is a small idyllic path to the sea (5 minutes walk), so every day we went swimming many times, beginning before breakfast. In the evenings we attended some unforgettable concerts at Osor festival and had some really nice dinners at Osor or Mali Lošinj or cooked ourselves. Due to circumstances we could only stay 10 days.
This year we booked well in advance and wanted to try Vidovici and stay a bit longer (3 weeks). The first two weeks we had house nr 5: from three floors there are smashing views to the sea, the sunset, and the surrounding woods. A really remarkable architecture how Ingrid restored these old houses with exceptional feeling for materials and proportions. Also the magazine (small places), where we stayed for the last week, had this same positive atmosphere like the other two houses we already knew, and we enjoyed sleeping on the foutons. The sea is a bit further than from the Sv. Jakov house in Vidovici (25 min walk through the wood or 5 min by car). We also made a longer walk to Lubenice starting directly from the house, and there are many more walking paths in the wonderful landscape and half shade (for next time). Compared with other beaches on the island, we found those around Martinščica very beautiful so that we always returned there.
We felt privileged to be welcome staying in these special houses that we originally found via the Urlaubsarchitektur website and are now enjoying the delicious olive oil from Ingrid and Dan's olive trees. The quality of this oil not so surprisingly matches the quality of the houses.
