If you are looking for a holiday filled with Mediterranean splendor, relaxation, authenticity, good food, outdoor activities and the feeling of being on a semi-remote island, you MUST get to know Stromboli. Opening your eyes to the islands white houses, black beaches and costal lines makes you believe that you are still dreaming.
On this charming island there is no better place to stay than the Villa La Pergola, a house that has been passed down from generation to generation, keeping its unique family flair even though it has been refurbished into a stunning modern boutique like villa. The kitchen is very well equipped and with one common area being more beautiful than the other, it is hard to decide where to sit to enjoy the amazing views of the ocean, costal line, sunrises and sunsets. The three bedrooms are furnished with beautiful wooden furniture, 3 queen size beds and comfortable mattresses. The cleanliness of the house and the terrace was impeccable, and the surrounding property was beautifully maintained. Sitting on the terrace with a cup of coffee and a delicious traditional biscuit I felt like a writer, who was about to start her new novel.
Unfortunately, my husband, baby and I only stayed in the villa for one week, but are already planning future visits and NOW know that these need to exceed 7 days. All outdoor activities (boat tours, volcano tour, hikes, beach visits etc.), as well as the super market, town square and restaurants can be comfortably reached by foot. The house also has direct access to a small quiet beach and an outside shower. I could go on and on – but one just has to experience the island on their own!
