Amazing Jaw dropping place, host, and view!
The white stone house is idyllic nestled in the dry rocky hills over looking the Adriatic sea.
Reasons to stay:
First, the house is personal, spacious, and spotless, with details of antiques and clean lines, yet refreshingly modern. The open lay out and high end amenities, down to the books and sheets were thoughtfully planned out and exceeded our expectations. By the house is a traditional tiny chapel and historical stone fences among the rough terrain. Just getting to the house is an adventure. We had the feeling of privacy and timelessness with its serpentine road up from the main street. There is also an open air terrace we used for family gatherings and feasts. Here we listened to ambient music or the cicadas, felt the Bora/ Maestral North breeze and breath taking views. A few times at night we star gazed by the fire pit. Quite memorable and inspiring experience...
Second, our host Natasha was always cheerful, gracious, and attentive to our needs. She even surprised us with local cheese and bread. Her twin sister Ingrid and brother in law were equally hospitable and understanding with a wealth of stories. Both ladies are very professional and creative, putting their heart into their homes. All along, we felt like they really cared about us.
Third, the island Cres is set aside from the others for nature lovers with hidden beach coves, wrinkled stoney cliffs, glittering olive groves, and sheep pastures. It prides itself as more secluded than other big islands. It is an eco-island which recycles and is harmonious with nature. Furthermore, it is home where the massive Condor/ Griffin vultures soar. Historically, people say Jason and the Golden Fleece adventures took place here and more recently the bronze athletic Apoxymenos was discovered.
To conclude, we highly recommend staying and already encouraged our friends to come. Thank you Natasha and family for sharing your home, heart, and vision.
